Visit the beautiful exhibition Dusk! Looking for inspiration, Olaf became intrigued by a book called the Hampton Album, made around 1900 by Frances B. Johnston. The way in which she portrayed African-Americans was entirely new for him: dressed up in middleclass home and classroom situations. With Dusk, Olaf aims to recreate this atmosphere, and show a world in which an African-American (upper) middleclass New York family plays the main role. Dusk is part of Dusk & Dawn, which will be exhibited later this year.
